Valentine’s Social Media Campaign for Online Sales + The Fancy Schmancy Co.

The Goal

The Fancy Schmancy Co, a local business started in DC’s Union Kitchen, wanted to promote their pink, heart-shaped ginger + beet crackers for Valentine’s Day on social media. Additionally, Kathleen, the owner, planned to launch a cheese board gift box featuring the crackers and other specialty ingredients around the holiday – to be advertised on Instagram and Facebook.

The Approach

Meaghan worked with Kathleen to craft pre-written posts for a month-long social media campaign about both the cheese board gift boxes, and the ginger + beet crackers, which were on sale at local Whole Foods stores for the duration of the campaign. Meaghan styled and photographed the crackers and box ingredients, wrote each Instagram post, and consulted with Kathleen throughout the campaign about when to post what, and which posts to pay to boost at key moments leading up to Valentine’s Day.

The Results

The campaign was a hit – reaching over 3,000 people on Instagram, generating a spike in traffic to The Fancy Schmancy Co’s website, and leading to sales of their Valentine’s cheese board gift box.

Furthermore, as the campaign progressed, people saved the posts to their private collections on Instagram (folders where users save posts to look at again later) 17 times throughout the campaign.
