Some Personal News

Friends, clients, and colleagues: I have some big news to share!

As of March 2nd, 2020, my freelance business is coming to a pause. That’s because I’ve accepted a full-time position as Marketing Manager at First Batch Hospitality – the group behind my long-time social media clients District Winery, Brooklyn Winery, (and more recently) RiNo Point Winery, their 3rd boutique location opening this year in Denver.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with the teams at these wineries for the last few years, and I am so delighted to be expanding my work with them to further promote their excellent wines, food, experiences, and events.

Pausing my work under Meaghan W. Marketing is of course a bittersweet announcement. I have truly loved working as a self-employed consultant and photographer. Working with amazing clients ranging from small family food product businesses, to large and beloved DC restaurants like Masseria and Officina, to pop-up spaces like District Space in Brookland, to my favorite local wine bar The Pursuit, to local Virginia winery Lost Creek has been so rewarding. I even recently had the chance to consult for a winery in Napa – Rocca Family Vineyards. This line of work has introduced me to so many incredible entrepreneurs from across the country.

Working as a freelancer was not always easy, but it was importantly educational, and provided me with a lot of enjoyable freedoms last few years. I’m so grateful to have successfully leveraged my past communications experience to start a business – something my past self would never have predicted! And I’m grateful to the many people who shared their advice with me along the way.

When it comes to Meaghan W. Marketing, I’m not sure what the future will hold. But for now, I am so excited to immerse myself into the First Batch Hospitality team and further my wine marketing work in support of their unique locations in DC, NY, and Denver.

I’ll continue to share about my work on Instagram @meaghanwmarketing, so follow along. Have questions about what I do, or about my new official employer and their wineries? Get in touch using my Contact page!
