  1. Thanks for this. I am a fan of poached eggs but useless at poaching them myself. Going to try and follow your directions to the letter and see how I go πŸ™‚ Maybe I will make my mother proud by mastering this very basic art (that she thinks I should have mastered a long time ago!).

  2. Your method is similar to mine. I also add about 1/4 cup salt to the water and 1 tbsp vinegar. The salt helps suppress boiling and the eggs float better. The vinegar also help the egg set more quickly in the water. I crack my eggs into ramkins to avoid mishaps in the water. I lower the ramkin into the water and gently roll the egg in.
